Contract Renewal Statuses & Notifications
This article provides clarity on contract renewal statuses and notifications. There are two components to highlight in this document:
Termination of Contract
- This refers to these functions: End contract and terminate contract, found in multiple areas of the software.

-
- For contracts set to auto-renew, Productiv marks the currently active term as the last term of the contract, meaning it will not renew from that point going forward.
- Productiv does not send renewal email notifications once a contract has been marked as terminated.
Renewal Statuses & Notifications
When it comes to renewal statuses, please note the following:
- Users can set a renewal status for a specific contract.
- Setting a status has no effect on email behavior/notifications unless the contract is terminated.
- There are five renewal states:
- None.
- Renewing.
- Renewing - Completed (Terminal state).
- Wont renew.
- Wont renew - Contract ended (Terminal state).

- When you set the Renewal status to one of the two Terminal states, the UI suggests to “Terminate the contract."
- Once you mark the contract as terminated, Productiv no longer sends email notifications.
- For contracts in which the renewal status is set to “Renewing - Completed” or “Won't renew - Contract ended,” but emails are still being sent, this means that the user did not click on the “Terminate contract” button.
