Introduction
Forms are essential for customers to capture/request information as part of the purchase / renewal workflows. Forms can be used to capture structured information from users for tasks like app renewals, software requests, capture result of security review, request specific responses from vendor during a vendor review. These forms are available in the docs section of the workflow, can also be downloaded. Form filled as part of the workflow would also be synced to respective Slack channel of the workflow like other docs.
Form section has two views
- Form table view listing all forms you have created.
- Builder view which can be used to create/edit forms.
What is the Form Builder?
The Form Builder allows to build a form by adding form elements, via a simple drag-and-drop interface.
Forms landing page
Navigate to Forms from the left navigation. This will direct you to the forms landing page. On the form landing page you will see a list of forms that have been created and a link to create a new form. The list allows you to view additional information about the form, including the Form name, Description, Type, Status of form, Last edited and Created by.
Form builder overview
- Form Canvas: The central area where you design your form by dragging and dropping fields [1].
- Question type: The sidebar displaying available field types for you to add to the form.
- Question Properties: The panel where you customize the selected field's settings (shows up when a field is selected).
- Page header: This section contains the form name, description and primary actions of the form builder
When first creating a form, the Form Builder will be preconfigured with a handful of questions relevant to the chosen form type. These are essential questions for the selected type of request. Such questions are denoted with a lock icon
and you will not be able to remove these from the form. However, you will still be able to change the name of the field, reorder the field, and update its properties.
