Control the order of provisioning workflow outcomes
When adding a second or subsequent provisioning workflow rule for an app, the final step is to set the rule order. The order of rules matter because a user is checked against each rule in order. The first rule the user matches determines the provisioning outcome for that user, and all later rules are ignored.
For example, a user may match the criteria for both downgrading their license and deprovisioning the license. If you want the user to be deprovisioned, not downgraded, ensure that the rule matching deprovisioning comes first.
To change the order of workflow provisioning rules for an existing workflow:
- On the Automation page of the app, add or open the workflow rule.
- Select Reorder rules.
- Drag the rule into the workflow to reflect where in the rule order it should be applied or use the up/down arrows to the right of the rule.
- Select Save workflow.
