Why connect SSO with Productiv?
SSO is just the first of 5 types of platform connectors to be configured for Productiv. Connecting to your single sign-on tool will pull in the list of all SSO-enabled apps, as well as user login activity for each application.
Which SSO solutions integrate with Productiv?
Connectors of all kinds are being added to the Productiv portfolio on a regular basis. The SSO connectors currently available include: Okta, Azure Active Directory, Duo Security, Idaptive, OneLogin, PingOne and Google Workspace.
How do I set up SSO with Productiv?
The SSO connector is essential to providing the broadest visibility into your SaaS application portfolio and requires Read-only SSO Admin* access to setup. (*It’s worth noting that the principle of ‘least privilege’ is being applied, which should keep your security team happy and you compliant).
NOTE: Before you get started, we recommend using service accounts whenever your company’s policies allow. Ideally, set these service accounts with a long-term expiration on the credential.
Doing this in advance not only makes the setup process swift, it will also help ensure Productiv always has the most up-to-date insights without you having to worry about account turnover or expiring credentials.
Steps to connect SSO
-
To see all the available Platform data connectors, go to the Productiv navigation pane and click Settings.
- To see the available SSO connectors, scroll down to the Single Sign-on section.
There are multiple options for SSO connectors and each of them has a guide with step-by-step instructions specific to setting up that SSO connector. NOTE: If you allow more than one source of access to applications, for example SAML login as well as a Social based login, you'll want to add both of those sources to improve the activity data collected.
- Select the appropriate SSO connector for your organization. Productiv navigates to the setup page for that connector, including requirement details and a link to the setup guide.
- Input the necessary details for the connector.
For example, Okta requires a token from your Okta instance and your organization's URL.
How long does it take?
It takes 5 minutes to set up. Once SSO is connected, information will begin flowing into your Productiv account within an hour, but keep in mind that depending on the volume of data, it may take a few days to fully populate.
What if I don’t have the right permissions?
If you are not a Productiv Read-only SSO Admin, or do not have the proper SSO provider permissions, you can invite a teammate to complete the integration.
Click Invite a teammate and enter the teammate's email address.
