This article provides an overview of the SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) and DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) email notifications settings found in Settings > Organization.
For more information on how to set up DKIM, click here. For a quick overview, refer to the below section.
SMTP & DKIM Overview
When it comes to SMTP and DKIM, customers are encouraged to set up one of these (not both) to avoid email notifications from being sent to the spam folder.
This is especially important for receiving alerts regarding process updates to the AppCenter as well as Automated Deprovisioning workflows within your Productiv account.
SMTP effectively whitelists emails whereas DKIM effectively spoofs the inbox by using your domain as the ‘From’ address in notifications.
For a better understanding of SMTP and DKIM, we recommend referring to the IT and Security teams at your organization.
