Sometimes app usage data seems to be missing, or it’s not what you expected to see. There are several reasons why that might happen.
The app engagement connector was only recently set up
If this app has an engagement connector, it may not have collected enough data yet. Normally, engagement connectors only begin collecting data from the date that it established the connection with Productiv.
There is also a chance that the connected app has data available that dates anywhere from 0 to five years in the past. If there is a lot of data to retrieve, it may take Productiv anywhere from 2-5 days to show the app’s data.
The app’s API has a slight lag time
If the app does not have an engagement connector, depending on how the app’s API provides data to Productiv, there could be a delay of 2-5 days before the data collected about app usage begins to display. During that time, you’ll see a message indicating when the data will be available.
You selected time period too early for viewing
If the window of time you selected for viewing data falls before the app’s engagement data started to populate, you won’t see any data from that time. In that case, try filtering the view by a different date.
Note that if the date you select comes before Productiv would have collected a full 30 days’ worth of data, Productiv displays as much data as exists for that window of time – just not 30 days’ worth.
Productiv is re-aggregating the app instance’s data
If you’re not seeing data for an app that has been connected to Productiv for awhile, it may be because Productiv is re-aggregating the instance’s data. This means that data exists, but it’s being re-aggregated from a data further in the past than the time period you requested.
Re-aggregation can happen if…
- Productiv found additional data for the app in the past, and needs to inculcate that data in all the numbers , OR
- There was a bug in Productiv’s aggregation pipeline which caused spurious data to show up. In this case Productiv would fix the bug and then re-aggregate the data to fix the data.
If you have the Zoom Meetings connector
Be aware that not all Zoom Meetings events count towards 30 day engagement statistics.
Counted: Engaged rooms where any of the following activities were performed within the last 30 days:
- A meeting was held
- A meeting was recorded
- Video was shared with other meeting attendees
- Audio was shared with other meeting attendees
