Streamline access request workflows and prevent delays using App Center's new approval reminders feature. This proactive solution automatically sends timely reminders to approvers when the access request remains pending on them for a specified customizable period.
Why?
Access requests can sometimes get stuck in the approval process for various reasons, such as approvers forgetting about the initial notification or being too busy to review it promptly. With the approval reminders feature, when an access request has been pending for a specified period of time, a reminder notification will be sent to the approver, prompting them to take action with just one click. This gentle nudge helps ensure that access requests are reviewed and processed efficiently, preventing delays and frustration for both approvers and end users.
How?
To utilize the nudging feature, App Center admins need to explicitly enable it in the settings page. Once enabled, a dedicated UI allows you to configure the reminder pattern, including:
- Reminder delay: Specify the amount of time to wait before sending the first reminder notification to the approver.
- Repeated reminders: Determine whether to send recurring reminder notifications to the approver if the access request remains pending after the initial reminder.
To minimize notification fatigue, the approver receives all pending reminders in a single message. Reminder notifications are sent out at 8:00 AM each morning. Notifications are sent through either Slack or email, based on the customer's current approval method.
