App descriptions are now powered by Sidekick. These descriptions are detailed, articulate and always up to date with what an application’s capabilities are.

Why would I use this?

As an IT leader, you have to manage hundreds of apps. While you may know what the top enterprise applications are used for, it is impossible to keep track of what all your applications do and how they are used. Knowing what applications are in your tech stack is not enough - you need to understand the details quickly about what everything does (rather than having to drop what you’re doing to figure out what an app does inside your organization).

How does it work?

We've implemented AI that uses proprietary signals to discover the core capabilities of each application from several data sources, continuously updating app descriptions with the most accurate, up-to-date information in plain English. This helps IT leaders quickly understand key details without manual research, enabling faster, better informed decisions.

Q: Why am I not seeing a generated description for some apps?
A: There are two main reasons why you may not see an AI generated app description:

• It is a suite application - currently sidekick does not generate descriptions for suite applications.
• Some application websites block systems from accessing and reading their websites. In these cases Productiv falls back to human curated descriptions.
