03-18: Frictionless editing of the renewal proposal

The renewal proposal is intended to be a fluid object that can change throughout the renewal workflow. Only being able to edit the proposal if you were assigned a “Review renewal proposal” task added to much friction for users trying to update the proposal to the latest values. Negotiations can often happen throughout the renewal workflow process and we want users to always be able to easily keep the proposal up to date.

Users can now edit the renewal proposal at any step in the workflow, without being assigned the current step. Any user with access to the workflow can edit the renewal proposal. As always, edits to the proposal send out notifications to watchers involved in the workflow and previous versions of the proposal are available to view.

Editing a renewal proposal

Users can now edit the renewal proposal when viewing any user’s task by simply clicking the edit button.

Viewing older versions

Older versions of the renewal proposal are available to view on the task as well.

Tracking changes

All updates to the renewal proposal will send out notifications via Email, Slack, or Teams depending on your workflow configuration and always be available in the workflow chat.
