There are times when you'll find that you have redundant apps. To understand how usage affects organizational productive and to consolidate duplicate apps, use the Compare apps function. You can compare up to four apps at a time this way.
To compare apps, do the following:
(1) Go to the left navigation pane and select Compare Apps. Productiv displays the Compare Apps page, with the Compare Apps pop-up on top.
(2) Select the apps you want to compare, either one at a time or by category.
To select the apps one at a time:
- Go to the pop-up's search bar and start typing the name of the first app you want to compare. Productiv displays one or more matches of apps where activity data is available, based on what you typed. It also displays a number of other apps in the same category as the app you just specified.
- Select an instance of the app from the matches that appear below the search bar.
- Repeat Steps 1 and 2 to choose up to 4 apps.
- Select Continue. Productiv displays tables and visuals that show how all selected apps are currently being used in your organization.
To select the apps by category:
- Go to the pop-up's search bar and start typing the name of the category of interest. Productiv displays one or more apps in the same category as the app you just specified, where activity data is available.
- Select up to four apps in the category of interest. To remove an app from the comparison, click the X next to that app’s name. To start over, click Clear apps.
- Select Continue. Productiv displays tables and visuals that show how all selected apps are currently being used in your organization.
Compare apps visualizations and tables
The Compare Apps page presents visualizations and tables to show how users in your organization are using the selected applications. You can sort your results across all teams, time periods from this week to as far back as 180 days ago, and either all licenses or only default license tiers.
- Overlapping users is a Venn diagram that shows the amount of usage and overlap for the compared apps.
- Distribution by teams shows which teams are using each app
- App footprint over time tracks changes in app usage over time
- Users per action utilizes engagement data to indicate which app actions are most used
You can choose different apps to compare by selecting Edit Apps from the Compare Apps page.
