Update app attributes

This article describes how to access the Productiv configuration wizard to update app attributes.

App attributes are fields that already exist in the app dataset, (such as app name, category, description, status, and other labels) that an app admin can update without changing their inherent data types.

You can update any attribute except app ID.

Process overview

To update app attributes:

1. Click the Settings icon.
   
    
2. Select the Manage data tab, if it is does not default to the tab.
   
    
3. Navigate to Bulk upload app data.
   
    
4. Click Configured custom fields to see the custom fields you have created.
   
    
5. Under Update app attributes, click Start .csv import. 
   Productiv launches the Import app attributes wizard.
   
   The wizard lists required fields that you must not edit, and optional fields that have already been created. It also provides with guidance on how to format your updates so that they can be best used in Productiv, via a link to our Help Center article App field formats for required and optional data.
6. Click Download current app attributes.csv.
   Productiv downloads a copy of your current app data as a .csv file named Productiv_bulk-upload_app-attributes.csv. It will appear similar to this:
   
    
7. Since any operation that updates app data via .csv file import completely overwrites all existing labels for the app, Productiv strongly recommends that you make a backup copy of this .csv file. That way, if there is any problem you can reverse the changes you are about to make.
8. Once you have created your backup, edit the second copy of Productiv_bulk-upload_app-attributes.csv, adding the optional fields listed in the wizard. 
9. When you have completed your edits, return to the Import app attributes wizard and click Next. Productiv displays the second page of the wizard.
   
    
10. Click I understand that this will replace current data.
11. Click Upload app attributes .csv..
12. Click Finish importing.
     

The updated fields you just imported should be visible in the app table immediately.
